The game runs fine during boot, and all menus and options are accessible. However, upon starting a New Game, the opening FMV doesn't render though the audio is heard, visually just looks like a black screen. The opening FMV is not skippable, but subtitles are visible during the playback. Once the FMV ends it goes to the loading screen which can be progressed after a long load time. However, the game is not playable once gameplay begins on Stage 1. The camera appears to be having issues rendering the game, or is in an incorrect place as only mountains and black can be seen. Rotating the camera can show a creek, and the player is actually there as moving the left analog stick will display a button prompt as the player is close to a dead npc that contains a lootable potion. The pause screen renders playable, but again there's nothing the user can do. At one point returning from the pause screen showed a dirty disc warning.
